"We live in deeds, not years: In thoughts not breaths; In feelings, not in figures on a dial. We should count time by heart throbs. He most lives Who thinks most, feels the noblest, acts the best. " - David Bailey 1938-, British Photographer

Notes from the Editor:
Hard to believe I am publishing the February issue, not mention the 141 issue in this great series of publications. One hundred and forty one issues - all free! Who else has this type of community resource?
I was thinking a lot about creativity this month. It is what drives my work. The desire to create, to express ideas in new and fresh ways. I know there is a lot of energy out there, much of it in our youthful members. This community exudes a creative flame that is inspiring.
David captures the idea with such poetry in this month's quote - deeds, thoughts, feelings - time measures in beats of the heart: here is the embodiment of the creative drive. I hope that you are encouraged, edified and motivated to create from what you read in these few humble pages.
Many fine people work very hard to bring this publication to you each month. I always must mention Janet who faithfully edits and formats these articles, and continues to insist she does the easy work. Janet has also contributed another great Stylebit article.
Alyce, my mentor always is gracious enough to provide quality articles to raise the bar on each of my publications. As the voice of authority (did I say that?) on Liberty Basic, I always look forward to what I am going to learn from her. She joins up with Stefan to publish a great API corner article. And I have to know, are you following the Eddie series? If you are not you are missing a top notch set of articles that do far more than just demonstrate and explain how to create an editor - the gems you can gather in all areas of programming with LB are fantastic!
Rich Ries brings his professional experience to us as he introduces and explains how to implement a preprocessor in LB using LB. A very interesting article that I know you will enjoy.
Stefan and I have a couple nice demos to offer.
You may have also noticed the third (and final) article in the Working with Strings series.
The tip corner this month deals with the much confused "ByRef" feature new to Liberty Basic. It ties nicely into Alyce's Eddie series (quite by accident) by demonstrating a function that separates the red, green and blue colors from an RGB value.
Notice also a review of the new Liberty Basic wiki.
So much to read and study. I hope there is something that really helps you out today. We create these publications for you in the hope that they are aiding the community. Let us know. We like to have comments posted to the forum [http://libertybasic.conforums.com/index.cgi?board=feedback], but if you are shy you can PM us as well - you know. We want to know what is working and what is not. What helped you and what should we include more of?
Thanks and enjoy another fantastic issue of the Liberty Basic Newsletter
- Brad Moore
The Liberty BASIC Newsletter encourages all LB programmers to submit articles for publication. Everyone has something valuable to say, from beginners to veteran LBers. Consider sharing a code routine, with explanation. Perhaps you can review a favorite LB website, or program, or coding tool? Why not submit a list of questions that have been nagging at you? How about sharing your favorite algorithm?
Be sure to read the submission guidelines on the main Liberty Basic Newsletter website.
